Police rescue a "reborn" baby locked in a car

Very often we see news on the internet of babies who are forgotten in a car and they just die, or animals that are deliberately left with the same end. Thanks to this, people are increasingly aware of the danger that a car poses and when they see a child locked up and only act right away.

This is what happened in Dudley, United Kingdom, near Russell Hall Hospital, where someone saw a baby inside the car as you see in the picture: covered, without moving and with a color that foreshadowed the worst. They notified the police, who rescued the baby, who turned out to be a "reborn" baby.

They tried to locate the car owner

The first thing they did upon arrival is to notify the switchboard to, with the license plate, know who the car owner was. Then they quickly contacted the hospital to see if they had any internal public address system with which they could give a general warning.

Seeing that the minutes passed and did not get an answer the two police officers decided to act: they broke one of the rear windows of the car to access the vehicle and get the baby, to meet the "reborn" baby of a 10 year old girl.

What would you have done?

The West Midlands Police Department posted the photos on Facebook and added the following:

We believe that the officers did the right thing in the face of what they really believed was a baby alone and in critical condition in a closed car in the hospital parking lot. The doll was extremely realistic and was wrapped in a blanket with only the top of its head exposed. The coloration of the head seemed pale giving highly experienced officials an additional cause for alarm.

In addition to this text, they asked people what would they have done instead, because knowing the final result the situation seems even comical.

The response has been unanimous; people give support to the two officers who acted at all times based on what they thought there was, a still baby, probably in critical condition. The reverse situation would have been worse, if the news were: "Two police officers are being investigated for doing nothing to save a baby in a car, thinking it was a doll."

Apologies to the owner of the vehicle

After the misunderstanding, as we read in Babyology, the police apologized to the owner of the vehicle who obviously understood perfectly what happened. The baby "reborn" was from his 10-year-old sister, Janaih Rattray, who had taken him with him to the hospital and at the last moment decided that it was a better idea to leave him in his sister Delesia's car.

Do not leave the children in the car, let them know if you see one

A few months ago we told you the case of a child who died in the car because someone left it inside. The truth is that this child was just one of many, because there are many occasions when this occurs: a forgetfulness, slightly high temperatures outside and the tragedy is served. Two years ago, a video tried to raise awareness by showing what happens inside a car when a child is left alone, and it is quite hard to see, although necessary.

What is not always hot? It is true, but it is that the car does not have to be considered a safe place, and less a place to leave a baby alone, as a woman did two years ago who went shopping and left the baby asleep in the car with a note with her phone in case there was an emergency. Note in case there was an emergency? Who should ensure the safety of the baby, his mother or the people who pass by and see the note?

Similarly, if you ever see a child in a car, alone, and consider that he may be at risk, tell the police. Do not think twice. It is better to be cautious about this than to think that parents will come quickly and then not appear.

Known the problem, it is already trying to solve with devices that let parents know if they forget the baby or even to activate the air conditioning of the vehicle, but let's not fool ourselves, the best solution is what parents can offer: don't leave them alone in the car.
