Junior High Mountain School at the Todovertical Club: for kids who started mountaineering

The High Mountain Junior School of the Todovertical Club (Becerril de la Sierra / Madrid) begins its journey for the fourth consecutive year. This aimed at children aged eight to 15 years who have some experience walking on trails and climbing.

To participate in these activities it is necessary to be federated of the Todovertical Club, and have a very professional orientation to be directed by qualified Sports Technicians and Guides of the Mountain Guides Company. The intrepid little ones who sign up for sure have a marked adventurous spirit, and the knowledge they will receive goes beyond purely sporting aspects. It is intended to train children and young people in various disciplines and introduce them to the exciting world of high mountains.

The approach is similar to previous years, there will be between 3 and 4 days per month until June 2013, complemented with departures of several days coinciding with some periods of school vacations. The registration period is open and ends on October 31.

The student profile for which we have designed this project is for those already initiated in the mountains, for those who already know and have experienced walking tours of a few hours, for those who have had contact with climbing and ask for more, to those who are willing to pick up and use their parents' ice ax, etc.

It is an activity with very limited and fully controlled risk. The technical training acquired by the children will be directed above all to the skill in the correct use of the material, more than the own maneuvers, so that according to the age and ability of the student they can assimilate in due time.

If you are interested, here you have more information, of course, the recommendation of the Club should be taken into account: that during the week the participating students regularly carry out some kind of extracurricular sport activity, preferably aerobic.
