Are the girls from dad and the boys from mom? Science says it's not always like that

Surely you've ever heard that phrase that girls are from dad and mom's boys. It is a belief or way of thinking that many people share because it is common for children to stick to the father of the opposite sex.

But what about the parents? Do you have a preference for some? A study reveals that although we do not know it consciously, we do have a certain preference according to the sex of our children.

The study, which was published in Journal of Consumer PsychologyHe discovered that when it comes to buying a gift or spending money, mothers and fathers tend to do more with children who are of the same gender.

According to the results of the study, although we say that we treat our children equally, this may not be entirely true, and it is found that by the fact of identifying more with those of our same sex, we unconsciously give them preference.

To reach this conclusion, various tests and questions were conducted. One of them was to ask mothers and fathers with children of both sexes to choose which one they would give them a $ 25 bonus. Most mothers chose their daughters, while most parents chose their children.

To verify whether this inclination to favor children of the same gender was a cultural issue, besides doing the study in the United States they did it in India, where they found very similar results.

Although both mothers and fathers tended to prefer children of the same sex, it was found that this was more common in fathers. When asked which of their children they would choose to leave their inheritance and materials for back to school, 87% of parents chose their children, while of the mothers only 76% chose their daughters.

Of course this does not mean that one is loved more than the other, in fact the study mentions repeatedly that fathers and mothers do it unconsciously.
