The short film Get a Horse! celebrating 85 years of Mickey Mouse is extraordinary

A few weeks ago we published in Peques y Más that Mickey Mouse turns 85 and celebrates it with the short film Get a horse !. It is the short film that is screened before Frozen, which we will talk about soon, and that has seemed extraordinary and wonderful.

Because what begins as an adventure film of many years ago with a day of country leisure between Mickey and his friends suddenly becomes a rugged and unpleasant moment thanks to the intervention of Pete Pata Palo kidnapping the beautiful Minnie. And when you think the short film is not going to any new and original place suddenly the screen becomes a movie stage where adventures begin to mix between reality, projection and fantasy. The projection has no 3D effects although the feeling of depth, sounds, images and history make you think you are watching a movie with relief. The rhythm in the scenes, the characters entering and leaving the projection at full speed, with a total mastery of the technique, that of the past and that of the future, improving the story and enriching it with vibrant content. On this page they explain details of the projection and you can see images that better explain the effects.

We remember that the short film Get a horse! Walt Disney Animation Studios follows the adventures of Mickey, his favorite companion Minnie Mouse and his friends Horacio and Clarabella, while enjoying a musical ride aboard a wagon full of hay. Until Pedro Pata de Palo appears and tries to get them out of the way.

The six-minute short film is directed by Lauren MacMullan who is a British cheerleader who has worked on Rompe Ralph! (2012) and in other cartoon productions for television and film, such as The Simpsons. I hope this extraordinary work of this director will continue with new productions because the film has been wonderful to me and I am looking forward to seeing it again.
