The art of photographing children by Raquel López-Chicheri

His photos breathe sea, summer, fun and freedom. It is not for less. Raquel López-Chicheri He lives in Fuerteventura, a paradise as inspiring as the moments he captures with his camera.

It is one of those photographers who catches her personal style. I have lost a couple of days among his photos and I have a hard time choosing just a handful to show you. It has recurring themes like the sea, which he calls "the great blue", but I have focused on his art to photograph children.

She is the mother of three children, her favorite models, whom she always watches waiting for the magic moment to shoot. He likes to photograph people and animals, getting images full of sensitivity.

His photos have me in love, especially the black and white photos. Not only for the freshness it has to photograph children, but for the game of contrasts, the compositions, the perfectly placed shadows and that adorable style "Beach Life" that they transmit I check them and in each one I rediscover something different that I had not seen before.

Ever attended a photography course that failed to finish. She started taking surf photos of her boyfriend and since she became a mother her children became her great inspiration.

How has motherhood influenced you in the art of photography?

Motherhood has influenced me a lot since my favorite models are my children, although they are already a little fed up with so much photo…. It's easy when you always have them around and you don't have to prepare the picture, just observe and shoot when you feel that there is something.

You use black and white a lot to achieve very dramatic images, why?

Yes, black and white is my baby, black and white images have always attracted my attention, they have a lot of contrasting strength and that helps to focus the motive.

Do you have any favorite pictures?

I have many favorites. It's hard to choose.

For me it is too. Thanks Rachel for allowing us to show your work in Babies and more. I leave you with some of his photos. Enjoy them!
