His sister will be the biological mother and he and his partner, the parents

Family models as we knew them historically have changed, they are changing. Families adapt to new circumstances and needs.

Samuel Leighton-Dore, from Sydney, has unleashed the controversy these days unwittingly by announcing on his Instagram account that his sister is going to be the mother of the future son he has with his partner, photographer and designer Bradley Tennant.

Samuel and Bradley want to be parents in the more or less near future. They could have opted for adoption or resort to usual surrogacy, with an anonymous egg donor but no, they have preferred that the ovules be those of Bronte, Samuel's little sister.

She will be her genetic mother and Bradley will be the one who fertilizes those eggs that will then be implanted in another woman's uterus. With this Bradley and Samuel seek a biological connection with their son. In any case, her sister would be the child's aunt, but it will be something else, without ever becoming her mother or interfering with the child's upbringing, which will obviously be done under the criteria of her parents, Samuel and Bradley.

Bronte will be like a kind of godmother, a feminine reference in the life of the child they have sought, a role with which she is delighted and excited as her brother Samuel has commented to a local media.

@mirandadevine thankful you're not my mother. Mine's far more fabulous. pic.twitter.com/H743IHUQ0k

Surprise reactions

Yes, Bronte and Samuel's parents already know their children's intention and have reacted positively, as Samuel has told the media outlets that have contacted them. Bradley's parents still don't know the news but the couple is convinced that they will also react positively.

However, not everyone in the family has reacted in the same way. Samuel's surprise on his Instagram account has not been well received by some relatives to meet her or by some of his followers with whom he has no family ties and many of them have taken the liberty of recriminating their decision of very bad modes, as he has commented himself.

Samuel and Bradley downplay the criticism and feel fortunate to be able to choose this option with which to form their future family within the love and respect of their current family, their parents and their sister.
