Activities for children outdoors: Paint with chalk

Goodbye to school for a few months!

Happiness to my son does not fit in the body on these days of vacation. I was really tired of so many classes, and that is still going childish.

Now that you can go to the park daily with these beautiful sunny days (here in Galicia we are cool), we can do various outdoor activities with our children.

One of the things children like best is to paint with chalk on the pavement. It is a cheap, didactic and even more fun activity if several friends are gathered.

Here is a “recipe” for an outdoor activity:

Ingredients:

  • Your child
  • A handful of friends
  • Many colored chalks can be bought or made at home *
  • A sunny day
  • A park or square with pavement

Procedure: On a sunny day, take your child and invite a handful of friends to a plaza or a park with pavement. Give them the colored chalks and let them paint at ease.

* To make the chalks at home you need:

  • 1 cup of plaster
  • ½ cup of water
  • Tempera
  • Molds

Procedure: mix the water with the plaster and the tempera. The more tempera is added the darker the color will be. Pour the mixture into molds (can be used as molds: egg cartons and disposable coffee cups).

I assure you that fun is guaranteed.
