ESA Kids adopts the explorer of another planet Paxi as a pet

Paxi is an explorer from another planet and ESA Kids has adopted it as your pet. The children are delighted because now it is going to help them learn many concepts about Astronomy and they are also traveling through many ESA venues (in the image with André Kuipers at Nemo Center in Amsterdam) and the ISS. In the video below you can see him being received by Luca Parmitano in the International Space Station (ISS) before going to explore it.

This nice alien is an explorer who has left his spaceship in an Earth orbit and has parachuted to be with us. His planet is in an orbit that revolves around a star not too far from our sun so Paxi says we are almost neighbors. Too Paxi has explained that his world has mountains, volcanoes, plains and rivers like the Earth although on your planet there is much more land area that stays together so they have lakes instead of oceans and seas. Paxi tells us that they have three small moons in the sky which will seem strange to the earthlings that we are accustomed to one and very large.

The name on Earth was chosen by Sara, seven years old, which from Spain made the proposal to ESA to be called that.

Paxi is the pet that ESA (European Space Agency) has chosen to teach children more about space and our planet. It is a pet with a happy face, a big smile, no nose, very lively look and antennas always pointing to everything that is radiated to hear it, understand it and explain it to the kids. Although he is green, other inhabitants of his planet are blue and others are purple and they all smile when they are happy and tremble, like us, when it is cold.

I think Paxi can help kids know a lot about space and I think that ESA has chosen a great character to reinforce its extraordinary work of dissemination of the science and technology it is doing and now also with a focus on children.
