Between scalextric and dolls. From Mariquita Pérez to the play

Vitoria-Gasteiz hosts until February 17 a sample that can satisfy the curiosity of children and the nostalgia of the elderly, is exhibited in the Caja Vital Foundation room and is entitled “Between scalextric and dolls. From Mariquita Pérez to the play ”.

From lead soldiers of the nineteenth century, the evolution of the toy is followed to those we find today, those that offer education and fun to our children.

Some of the old toys exhibited today are still being manufactured and sold, but others that are really memorable will be found, they have passed into the history of the toy store, but they can be seen thanks to the transfer of private collectors. In addition to the sample, there are spaces dedicated to testing, as in the case of Scalextric or Play. They have mounted a giant Scalextric, a four-track circuit 32 meters long where miniature cars go "on the run."

They have also enabled a room to play the PlayStation and other consoles provided by Sony.

Not only will there be game and exhibition, the announcements of old background toys will sound and the history of the toys will be known. An interesting visit to go with family, right? And they also make a collection to buy toys to disadvantaged children through cut-outs that are sold at the symbolic price of 1 euro.
