The Observatory of Nutrition and Physical Activity is born

He Observatory of Nutrition and Physical Activity It is a platform that emerges in Spain as a pioneering initiative to analyze and propose measures around the problem of obesity and physical activity.

Both are recurring themes in the pages of Babies and more for the importance they have in the health of our children and also of fathers and mothers.

News such as the one I commented yesterday about the high rates of obesity in schoolchildren and the relationship with the poor physical activity they perform are those that make organizations of this type necessary that can analyze and contribute initiatives to alleviate these alarming data and raise awareness of its relevance to society.

It is a scientific and social platform, composed of the presidents of several scientific societies related to nutrition and health, among them, the Spanish Community Nutrition Society.

They have already begun to address issues such as the genetic implications of childhood obesity, the relationship between Mediterranean diet and obesity, food education and supportive therapies in the approach to obesity and the role of the food industry in obesity prevention programs.

If they fulfill their objective of joining efforts to contribute improvement proposals for emerging issues and problems related to nutrition and physical activity, it will be an important step in this path of awareness and social relevance.

Because we can not silence the series of figures so alarming and increasingly evident that they are coming to light regarding poor diet, obesity and its problems, not only in Spain but increasingly in the entire developed world.
