Eight out of ten parents of children with ADHD suffer from stress

In the framework of the IX International Course on Child Neuropediatrics and Neuropsychology Update, held in Valencia, interesting facts about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are being released.

The figures provided about the number of parents of children with ADHD who suffer from stress They are worrisome. Specifically, it is noted that up to 75% of them feel helpless and unable to control their child, and more than 80% suffer a high level of stress.

The problem would affect many parents, especially considering that hyperactivity and attention deficit is the most common neuropediatric pathology.

In addition, for the first time in this course ADHD is addressed in adults, a problem that is becoming increasingly important, among other reasons because, as we have seen in Babies and more, half of hyperactive children will continue to be adults. It is a disorder that can affect 60% of adults.

As we know, some of the symptoms of ADHD are lack of concentration, reduced memory capacity, problems of self-discipline and organization, impulsivity, low self-esteem, mental restlessness, frustration and poor social skills, which usually has an impact on their working life as adults. .

All this reflects on the need for help, not only for children with ADHD, who also require early diagnosis and proper treatment, but support also for their families, because coping with that situation is not easy.
