Imagine that today you can not go to the pool, and there are no neighborhoods on the street, you do not feel like walking to the ice cream shop and children get bored with TV. Staying at home is also not a bad option for a summer day, but as long as we are able to propose entertaining activities to the kids.
The solution is in the pantry: because if you have flour, salt and oil, and you are also full of creativity, you already have a few hours of fun at the kitchen table. But no, I do not invite you to make any cake or cake, but to make your own modeling paste.
Ingredients:
- Two glasses of flour, a glass of fine salt, ¾ glass of water and a tablespoon of olive oil.
If you want to color it from the beginningYou have two options: add natural dyes such as cocoa powder or ground paprika, and you can also include in the mix a teaspoon of tempera paint (not watercolor).
How we make modeling paste:
- In a bowl we mix the flour with the salt, at the same time we pour the oil into the glass of water and stir vigorously. We gradually add the water to the mixture while we knead with our fingers. If at any time we see that the result is going to be too liquid, we keep the remaining water, although we have tested with these quantities and there is a flexible, moldable and very easy to work paste.
Applications:
You can use instruments to model modeling clay like knives, rollers and molds; although the most fun is to give different shapes with your hands.
Once we have the finished forms, we will let them air dry, although we can also use the oven at 150 º, for at least an hour and a half. This last option can be worth if many figures have been finished, or if we take the opportunity to make muffins or cakes, so the energy we use is used.
Finish:
When the base mass has not been colored, and once it has dried, we will paint our creations with acrylic paint (tempera) a little diluted in water and using brushes of various sizes and soft bristles.
