36% of children's programming skips protected hours

Just watching some programs with the children, we realize the lack of protection they have in front of the television, even in supposedly safe hours for minors.

A study prepared by the Association of Audiovisual Media Consumers of Catalonia (TAC), which analyzes the fulfillment of the special protection schedule by the youth and children's channels has concluded that 36% of children's programming skips protected hours.

There are six youth and children's spaces that broadcast inappropriate content for children in protected hours: Neox, FDF, Super 3, Clan TV, Boing and Disney Channel.

The time slot between 17 and 20 hours was studied and found that 57% of the time inappropriate content was broadcast, which should be indicated as suitable for over 12 years and issued outside these hours.

These included, among others: implicit sex, machismo / denigration of women, frivolity, physical violence, violent attitudes, foul language; lies, disrespect for the elderly or the dead, not responsible for the use of drugs or alcohol, racism, unhealthy or non-civic habits, get things easily and effortlessly.

On the other hand, Neox and FDF also violate this legislation in the advertising section. They include spots with adult content and products that promote body worship. Not to mention the duration of the cuts, which exceed 12 minutes per hour of clock or advertising cuts, which do not respect the integrity of the work being broadcast.

This is not new. We are already sadly used to that the programming in children's spaces skips the schedule of child protection. We hope that the competent bodies will be stricter when it comes to regulating them, but ultimately the choice is in our hands.
