The fair for professionals SIMO Education closes the year 2014 with more than 7,500 visitors

On October 18 it closed SIMO Education 2014, the Hall of Technology for Teaching, which for three days gathered in Hall 6 of the Madrid Fair, the offer of 125 companies and entities of the sector to present companies and reference solutions for the educational community with a focus on information technologies. The call managed to bring together 7,526 professionals, three times more than in the 2013 edition, and whose main conclusion is that the new tools and technological resources to teach in the digital age are prepared to be used in the educational process of students.

It has also been seen in SIMO Education to teachers and non-teaching staff as well as representatives of the different public administrations with competences in education from the 17 Spanish Autonomous Communities and the Autonomous Cities of Ceuta and Melilla. There were also experiences from other countries with 200 professionals from 29 countries with strong presence of Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Puerto Rico. Hall 6, two hundred meters from 8 in which Madrid Games Week was held and attended by more than 55,000 people, had also multiple attractions with the latest products, proposals of leading brands with fixed and mobile devices, interactive audiovisual projection solutions, 3D printing, collaborative and adaptive learning systems, robotics, gamification, management solutions, connectivity tools, virtual reality and augmented reality and much more. Surprisingly, that technology, similar to that used in video games, was not enough to get the attention of the teenagers who filled the pavilion 8.

Between the conferences oriented to the sections of compulsory education and which were organized in collaboration with the magazine Education 3.0, highlighted that of the renowned author Marc Prensky and of which we recently told his presentation in Peques y Más. Miguel Brechner, president of the Ceibal Plan, a program that has enabled the schools of Uruguay to provide technology. There was also talk of how adaptive learning is taking place using digital resources and / or textbooks, flipped classroom, gamification, robotics, digital artifacts, learning and evaluation with mobile applications, m-learning, use of audiovisuals in class, augmented reality and many more techniques aimed at promoting and facilitating learning.

Also in SIMO Education, In collaboration with Education 3.0, the Awards were presented to the Educational Innovation, in recognition of the work of professionals and entities that favor the development and implementation of ICT solutions in the Education Sector. In addition, a second prize of 1,000 euros to the best public presentation during the fair that went to Creapp discounts that we also met recently in Peques y Más.

I liked attending SIMO Education, it is very important that parents know what our children do in class, what problems teachers find to advance their knowledge transmission process. And above all it is essential to know what tools are made available to students to boost and even accelerate your learning. We hope that SIMO Education celebrates many editions and that our children move that open and enterprising spirit towards the company. I think that will be the challenge of the next editions of SIMO Education, preparing the company to accept these millennials who are already arriving at the labor market and who have learned in a different way to how they work in the current company.
