From time to time, stories like this surprise us, because such large families are not frequent and because less common is that with such a large number of children, they are of the same sex. A couple from the United States who has twelve sons are waiting for their baby number 13.
Following the family tradition, they have not wanted to know what the sex of the baby is, so we will have to wait until May to know if the new family member is a great novelty, what the parents want: a girl.
They are Jay and Kateri Schwandt and they reside in western Michigan, where they expect the baby to be, again, a male. They say that it will be a shock if the baby is finally a girl, but after all, and I imagine that in that they are like the rest of the future parents, what they want is to be born healthy.
The explanation to this great family, as we can suppose, is that the couple, a devout Catholic, does not use contraceptives. So, the mother has been pregnant "half of her life" and she likes that. Good sign that I have not said "enough" before: I imagine that nausea and other discomfort during pregnancy will not have made much dent in it ...
The eldest son is 22 years old and the mother comes from a big family too, because they were 14 brothers. We also saw in the United States a marriage with 19 children (although with quite a "mix" of boys and girls).
The father wants to be a girl his thirteenth son, change the "abrupt games" and riots for another environment, while the mother prefers what she already knows and not have "pressures" or too much news. But I wonder, how different is raising and educating a boy or a girl?
