Mar de Petit Pop: "we make pop music for kids looking for the singing and catchy chorus"

In Peques and More we present to Petit Pop. It is a musical project that aims to bring pop to children in absolute complicity with their families. The challenge of this group is to encourage children to discover other sounds and experiences. leaning on pop music. And it is that Petit Pop makes songs with animated lyrics and exciting melodies with catchy choruses that we can repeat at home with the kids while we are also opening the door to discover new songs and music styles. Petit Pop also does concerts and they are participatory and fun to involve children in the show and in the songs creating an interesting interaction between the musicians and the audience that has a great time.

Petit Pop takes on the road since 2010 although its members come from bands we met in our youth as Pauline on The Beach, Nosoträsh, Undershakers Y Edwin Moses. Mar, of the first two bands, is the one that will answer the questions of this interview designed to know more about Petit Pop:

What is the kind of music that Petit Pop performs for children?

We fundamentally make pop music, although adapting to the children's and family universe. We use the sense of humor to describe everyday family situations, making constant winks to the elderly, and we always do it looking for the singing and catchy pop chorus.

In what language does Petit Pop sing?

We sing mainly in Spanish, but we translate and edit all our albums in Asturian.

What instruments can the little ones hear in Petit Pop?

We are a pop band to use: drums, bass, guitar and keys.

How does Petit Pop promote your work?

Thanks to social networks and word of mouth fundamentally, also to blogs like this, some radio, etc. There is no defined line of promotion.

The musicians of the band belong to the generation that created with the big children's groups like Parchis, Nins, Licorice, etc.

Who composes in Petit Pop and which theme is the most frequent?

We make up the four and the theme, as we said before, draws on things that interest children and adults, always looking for intergenerational complicity and humor.

What singers for children are the reference of Petit Pop today and what have they been in the past?

We do not have specific references, but we all belong to the generation of large children's groups such as Parchis, Nins, Licorice, etc. So I imagine that some of that we have recorded on our particular internal hard drive.

What is the future proposal of Petit Pop in children's music?

Well, we hope to perpetuate ourselves a lot in time, because we are having a great time and the project works, you can not ask for more.

Why does Petit Pop like to sing to children?

We imagine that they feel identified and have equal fun.

With Petit Pop the kids identify and have fun in equal parts

Is it possible to live singing for children?

Well, at the moment we combine it with other work facets, but it goes pretty well, yes

How many works does Petit Pop have published for children?

We are about to release our third album.

Where can we acquire Petit Pop's works and where can we see you live?

Our records are in the FNAC of all Spain and in all the music stores and bookstores that ask for them. Our distributor is called Gran sol. We give concerts where we are called. So far we have played in Madrid, León, Palencia, Logroño, Santiago de Compostela, Coruña, Pamplona. And of course in Asturias.

And here the interview with Mar, from Petit Pop. Thank you very much for your time and your answers. The interview was marked because I recently listened to them on the Radio 3 program, Disco Grande, and I found it very interesting to know more than one proposal that emerges from Pop and is aimed at children. I think that the music they make is very fun and lively, that children and their parents like and especially that encourages them when they are older to keep their curiosity to discover more and more music. We wish them many successes, and also many sales of their third album, We don't like Mondays, which is shown in the image, and in which they explain, among other things, that nature is not lazy.
