Create your own Snich balls to decorate the Christmas tree

Have you already decorated the Christmas tree? Well, if you have not done it yet or you have room for a few more balls, here I bring you a simple craft for Harry Potter fans, and that you can Create your own Snich balls to decorate the Christmas tree.

It is very simple and in a few steps you will have the hall that will look like the Hogwarts playground.

What are we going to need?

The elements to build our own snichs are very simple:

  • One, two or three packages (to your taste and the size of the tree) of golden Christmas balls.
  • A roll of 2.2 or 2.6 mm diameter wire.
  • Foil.
  • Pliers or utensil to straighten the wire.
  • Dremel or fine drill. A little thinner than wire. If you do not have a drill you can make the hole by heating the wire or with a berbiquí.
  • Glue. Better if it's spray
  • A cat (optional) Will not do anything, but if you have it you will not be able to get rid of it.
  • Let's do it

First step: we cut pieces of wire about 20cm, one for each ball we want to build.

Make holes to each ball. It is important that you make them symmetrical and at the same angle as the image to make it easier to introduce the wire later.

Now let's prepare the wings. To do this, we will cut 5x9 cm aluminum foil rectangles, taking care to keep them as smooth as possible. We are placing them as seen in the image (more or less in the middle of the sheet and as close to the ball as you can).

Carefully fold the foil over itself using the wire as the axis. Try not to wrinkle it, although if any come out nothing will happen because they will be removed in later steps.

Another thing with which you have to be careful is the direction in which you turn, because you can end with one wing looking at Cuenca and the other at Barcelona.

Once you have the folded wings you have to shape them. Use a template more or less with the shape that we put here and cut.

We are almost done! Once you have the wings trimmed with the help of a piece of wire, a stick or some pointed tool, draw small lines along the wings and do not worry if they are not symmetrical, it will surely look great. You can rely on a book to do the operation.

Once this step is over, it only remains to give the wings a small shape. The idea is that they are not completely straight and that they seem more real.

It hasn't been very complicated, right?
