  • Avoid triggers: people, places, things and situations that cause the need to smoke. Change your usual routine related to smoking.

  • If you need to have something in your hand or something to put in your mouth, choose healthy snacks. Avoid caffeine and replace it with water or natural juices. It is normal to feel the "withdrawal syndrome" because when we stop smoking the body has to adapt to not having nicotine. Therefore, it is advisable to develop strategies to deal with withdrawal symptoms, such as this and the previous ones.

  • Remain positive, but attentive, because sometimes quitting smoking takes a while. And think that quitting smoking is an achievement that may not last forever, do not fall into temptations but do not be tormented if you ever fall, the cigarettes you subtract are an improvement and you have to try again, returning to the first step with conviction.

  • Reward yourself if you have done it, treat yourself, a special dinner, go to the movies, a couple getaway ...

The first reward is that in a few days you will feel healthier and full of energy, you will notice improvements in your skin, in your hair, in your teeth ... Although the best reward is that we will have a safer pregnancy and a healthier baby if we follow these steps to quit smoking during pregnancy.
