A couple of paramedics shows the most important thing about using the car seat

The safety of our children is essential, so buying the right car seat is something that interests and worries thousands of parents around the world.

Some think that the higher their cost, the greater the protection they will provide for their children, however, What is really important is not the price, but the way in which it is used and a couple of paramedics shows us.

Krystal Keidon and her husband are paramedics, parents of a 4-year-old boy named Alexander and are waiting for another baby. Between the two they have 20 years of experience attending emergencies, many of them in traffic accidents and have learned some lessons.

In a photo he shares on his Project Hot Mess page, Krystal says that at that time they have never seen a child who was well secured in his car seat get hurt from a vehicle accident, and explain why.

"Some thoughts of paramedics about car seats ... feel free to share"This is how Krystal's message begins, explaining that now that they are expecting a second child, they decided it was time to buy a new chair for their son Alexander, which appears in the photograph of his publication.

She comments that being a member of groups and communities of mothers, she knows that talking about child restraint systems always becomes a heated debate because there are many points of view on various things about its use. But this time, although there is science and studies that support what I was about to say, I wanted to share what she and her husband have seen from their experience as paramedics in vehicle accidents.

When you become a father you spend ERAS looking for the "best" child seat. You look for the safety specifications, the rating it has, the reviews and you worry about buying the best option. But it doesn't matter how much money you spend on a car seat if you DO NOT HOLD your child in it. Between my husband and I, in the 20 years we have experience, we have never seen a child who was well held in his chair get hurt from an accident. Not even a single one.

We have seen chairs shot out of vehicles, we have seen cars that overturned so many times that you can barely make out the top, we have seen accidents where you could be sure there were no survivors. But in our experience, the big difference in a child's safety is not between the seat that costs $ 600 or that of $ 200. It is about harnesses.

How tight are you leaving the harness of your child's chair? Can you take your arms out of them? Can you slide only one or two fingers under the straps? Do they wear a large coat that can prevent them from going well?

Krystal asks this series of questions, about things that seem to be very basic but that many parents sometimes forget or overlook. Then he asks the question on which the image he shares is centered: "Would you feel safe doing this? Would you feel confident turning your son in his chair?"And keep talking about car seats.

Currently the car seats have incredible safety designs, are designed to wrap your child, protect him while it rolls and is thrown during an accident. But they can only do this if your child is properly held. So the next time you put it in your chair, ask yourself the following: Would I feel safe turning your head seat now?

This couple of paramedics touches what is probably the most important thing about having a car seat: use it correctly. Some years ago we shared that two out of three parents do not use child restraint systems correctly.

Recently I shared a similar post from another mother who made a demonstration similar to that of Krystal and her husband, in which we saw how she raised her son, sitting in the car seat, above her head to show us how they should go subjects.

Remember that although it is very important to take into account the brand, costs, qualifications and other things, the really important thing about child restraint systems is to use them correctly.
