Nothing is impossible: give a great example to your daughters by creating for them a collection of stickers from the Women's Soccer League

Collecting the cards of the official Football League is a hobby that drives many children crazy, but what would happen if they wanted to collect cards from the players of the Women's First Division League? Well, I couldn't do it, since there is currently no such collection on the market.

That's why María Vázquez, a mother of three football fans, She wanted to surprise her daughters by making the cards herself, and after many weeks of effort and dedication, and the unselfish help of clubs and photographers, is about to finish a collection that nothing has to envy the male League official.

A dream come true

At María's house, a neighbor of Montijo (Badajoz) they are all great football fans. Her husband and one of her daughters are from F.C Barcelona, while she and one of the girls are from F.C. In addition, the little ones have grown up watching the local women's team, EF Peña El Valle, and identifying with their players.

The idea of create a female First Division chrome album It emerged last year, when Maria and her daughter made a trip to Seville to see their team play before the League ended.

Initially he decided to create some cards with the players of Sevilla F.C, so that his daughter could take them on a trip in order to try to get an autograph. But it was then that her other child asked her to also make her the cards of the F.C Barcelona players.

So he got down to work, and when he was done with these two teams Maria thought: Why not make the entire First Division league collection? And that was how little by little, with a lot of dedication, and applying the knowledge she has of photoshop and editing, this mother is making her daughters dream come true.

Today, María has manufactured 250 cards of the Women's Soccer League that they have nothing to envy to the official cards of the masculine League that can be bought in the stores. To make them, he has used the same template as the well-known cards of Panini, and has been printing and plasticizing with a spectacular result.

An example of the hundreds of cards Maria is designing

But getting photographs of some of the players is not easy, so this mother decided to ask for help last Friday through her Twitter account without imagining the answer she would have:

I have more than 250 cards, made with a lot of help from photographers and clubs, with a lot of work and hours spent, to be able to give my daughters a chrome album of their idols, which I print and plasticize myself. They love. They identify themselves. And I am proud to offer it to you (1) pic.twitter.com/lDt5OyFHae

We are going for team number 11 of the @LigaIberdrola album. I'm missing 5 to complete it (and finish this one). Can we or can't we?
Plate 1 of @RCDEspanyolFF @RCDEspanyol. I hope I have not been mistaken as a twin. If so, my apologies. :) #QueremosCromosDeLaLigaIberdrola pic.twitter.com/5s7FSZ2sn8

Iberdorla, a sponsoring company of the Women's Soccer League, has also offered to help Maria with this beautiful project:

The recognition of women's football

With this gesture, Maria not only intends to fulfill her daughters dream of having all the cards of the players they admire, but to claim women's football and the right that all the children of to have a collection similar to that of the Men's Soccer League.

"I want my daughters to be reflected in female athletes. But above all so that if they go to the square and see some children playing they feel they have the same right to play as they do. The game is the game and why they can't have their idols and be women, like them? " - stated in statements to El Diario.

There are many Internet users who have applauded the gesture of this mother, and have taken the opportunity to claim that women's football has the same recognition as men's, and that Girls soccer players can find the figure of their idols also in cards.

The work you have done is amazing. @LaLiga should buy you the album and make them in series. Luckily, Spanish women's football is the mirror of thousands and thousands of girls. Good luck, congratulations and hopefully you can complete it.

Fantastic initiative! Just recently my 7-year-old daughter asked me to buy such an album and it hurt in my soul to explain that it did not exist, that women's football was not recognized. Aúpa champions! cc @paninicromos @eldiarioes

We have already talked several times about how important it is encourage girls to be what they want to be, far from the gender stereotypes that society sometimes marks. In this sense, both the game and the sport are two excellent ways to encourage them to fight for their dreams, and to find the perfect springboard to be what they want, both now and in their future.

With this beautiful chrome project of the Women's Soccer League, Maria has transmitted a powerful message to her daughters, showing them that with small gestures it is possible to change the society in which we live, fighting for gender equality and the recognition of women in all facets of their lives.

In addition, he wanted to make it clear that although a priori some dreams seem impossible to fulfill, with effort, determination and dedication there is nothing unattainable when really desired. Great job, Maria!
