The key is to be patient

A few months ago we dedicated ourselves to the task of helping Ruth - my youngest daughter - to leave the diapers. We believe that you are ready to take this great step and to face all the challenge of understanding what your little body asks.

Commenting that he is 3 years old, we have received criticism about his age: that he is too big, that we should have started earlier, that summer is the best time. I started thinking about what happens to adults who are in such a hurry to achieve achievements in our children.

Growth, going through stages overcoming obstacles, implies giving up certain satisfactions. These changes do not happen overnight: we must be very patient and wait for them to tell us when the time is and what path we should take.

When controlling the sphincters, when leaving the teat or when replacing the bottle by the cup or the cup, our little ones face a development that would be great to do with our help, because we will know how to provide respect and understanding for as long as it takes .

Saying goodbye to certain elements or situations that accompanied them in the first part of their lives should not be traumatic, but a mere farewell, perhaps painful, but indicative of the achievement of a splendid autonomy.
