Give our children the name we want

Following the case of Beliza, a daughter daughter of Colombians who are not authorized by a judge to register her under that name (her great-grandmother's), once again the controversy about what names are allowed to put the children and which not.

The arguments given to the parents were that "it is a name that does not exist, does not correspond to any sex", and also that it is not written with "z".

However, the future queen of Spain has a name that supposedly is not written with "z". On the other hand, Belisa (with s) is a frequent name in Spanish literature, present in works by Lope de Vega or Federico García Lorca.

The point is that the girl is now nine months old, they call her Beliza since she was born but it turns out that a judge decrees that she cannot be called that. What do you intend to change the name at this point?

Recently a Spanish reader who lives in Argentina also told us that she has had to make an unusual journey to demonstrate the meaning of Bosco, the name she always wanted for her son.

Apparently things tend to change, because the Senate passed the identity law, specially designed so that transsexuals can change their names, which will also eliminate some restrictions to name children.

When will this bureaucratic ridicule of not allowing parents to call our children as we like it end? Do we not have the right to call them what we want?

If one dreams throughout his life with a name for his son, what prevents him from calling him that?
