The big fashion companies look at the children

The International Mintel Report indicates that 20% of the proceeds from the luxury market have children as their final destination. Burberry, D&G, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Roberto Cavalli, DKNY, Moschino ... all these and many more are able to dress our children to the last, but of course, at unbeatable prices. Come on, those who buy this clothing for their children should give up the aid granted by the Government and transfer them to those who need them most.

The catalogs of magazines like Vogue already have children's versions, in them you can see that the children's clothing of this little elite is like that of their moms and dads but in miniature, “neither roses nor blues, no ties or lace, nothing of clothes that are easy to wash and iron, you have to be true to the brand ”.

Pepa Ortiz, director of the International Children's and Youth Fashion Fair of Valencia, says that the collection is addressed, who create comfortable and resistant clothing for children. Only missing ... But the fault lies with the parents and also with the marketing, and with the complexes, and with the desire to give the best (what a mistake).

The fact of wanting to live with more luxuries means that the birth rate is reduced, and this is called giving quality of life: to have a garment from Dior, Moschino or DKNY ?, to have the miniature version of Dad's car?

The parents are the guides of our children, at least until the age of six or seven we are the ones who choose their wardrobe, they accept it and very possibly keep it. Therefore large firms see a growing market in children and they work on offering all kinds of luxuries to the little ones, from the costumes, some toys, childcare articles, furniture and even perfumes and accessories. But let's not think that this is something new, this trend began to grow over 90.

According to the Professor of Anthropology of Education at the University of Valencia, Petra Mª Pérez, "children are being eroded by blurring the boundaries between childhood and adulthood." Of course, it is that childhood lasts less and less.

Knowing that one of the best times of life is childhood, are we going to take it away from our children?
