Children of separated parents who lose their relationship with one of them are at risk of social problems

We all know how difficult it is on many occasions after a separation or divorce, that children can maintain a good relationship with both parents equally. This situation can lead to conflict in the child if he does not get along.

As indicated today by representatives of associations of fathers and mothers separated from Spain, children who lose contact with the father or mother who does not have custody of the child after a breakup, they have 32 times more risk of social problemss of the type drug addiction, school failure, unwanted pregnancies or social maladjustment. They also affirmed that between 70 and 80% of minors who are hospitalized in centers are children of separated parents.

This arises as a result of the demonstration convened for Sunday the 10th in order to claim shared custody as the first option after a separation and claim the repeal of the current law that deprives the child of the right of care of both parents when establishing the joint custody only in those cases in which both spouses agree.

According to the Association of Separated Parents "in all the Courts of Spain, joint custody and custody are being approved by mutual agreement and for this a well-written Regulatory Agreement is necessary to ensure the interests of minors"

These associations state that in countries where joint custody is the main sentence, divorce rates have decreased by up to 90%, as have rates of domestic violence, unwanted pregnancies or school failure.
