Totlol, a YouTube for children

We have recently talked about Children's search engine, a Google for children and also came to our pages the search engine for children Quintura Kids and programs designed to protect children. And it is that more and more Internet sites are intended for the safe navigation of our children.

This other tool seems very good to me preserve children from inappropriate content and that sneak almost anywhere on the Internet. Of course, the videos are not exempt from those contents, we can try it by searching for any topic on YouTube: we will almost always see some unrelated video, or, in the worst cases, videos that contain a violent or criminal scene.

Thanks to Totlol we can generate a particular YouTube with those contents suitable for children between 6 months and 6 years. Thus the older ones collect videos, making filters to locate those videos suitable for them.

On the web we can find children's videos of all kinds, from classics such as Los Teleñecos, Sesame Street or Disney characters, educational drawings or music.

If we go to their categories, we will find a wide variety of themes: animals, food, music, songs, places, videos that feature dance, games, vacations ... There is a search engine to locate what interests us.

It is based on YouTube and controlled by parents acting in a parallel community by filtering or moderating the entry of videos to leave in Totlol only those that they consider suitable for minors.

They are responsible for searching, suggesting and tagging the videos they consider appropriate. Those proposed videos have to pass another filter, as they are left "on hold" until other parents approve them for incorporation into the site. In addition, as on YouTube, we can rate and comment on the videos, and if any video that we deem inappropriate is cast, we can suggest its revision.

At the moment, most videos are in English, but time to time, because if it is successful, more and more videos will be incorporated in other languages. The idea seems great to me.
