A third of Spanish children live in stressed families

Sometimes, in the meantime, rum-rum we do not realize the consequences that the level of stress to which we are subjected can have on our children.

It is not a minor problem, since according to a study conducted by the Spanish Society of Outpatient Pediatrics and Primary Care (SEPEAP) about 33%, that is, one third of the Spanish child population lives in families with a high level of stress.

Researchers have focused on the analysis of externalizing behaviors, that is, observable manifestation behaviors, which include criminal or aggressive behaviors.

Of course, not necessarily because of having a high level of stress, our children will be criminals, there are also other symptoms, called internalizing behaviors that can manifest in the child as isolation, somatic complaints, anxiety and depression, and so-called mixed behaviors as problems of attention, social and thought disorders.

They found that about 17% of children between 2 and 13 years are at risk to develop behavior problems of an externalizing type, while the risk is high by almost 7%.

The conclusions of the study entitled 'Epidemiological Study of Behavioral Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence with the Eyberg Inventory' are interesting because it makes us see a reality that is difficult for us to recognize.

Not playing with our children, being involved in our affairs without giving them the attention they need, not listening because we are always in a hurry ... all those little attitudes we have every day are damaging communication between parents and children, the germ of most problems in adolescence

Sometimes we wonder why some of our children's behaviors that seem to have no explanation. Our crazy way of life may be the answer.
