France will ban the sale of mobile phones to children under 6

The mobile has become an essential element for adults and is gradually becoming a regular gift for children and adolescents.

This fact creates a lot of controversy since early access to them could be harmful for children affecting their health, their social relationships and their education.

France plans to ban the advertising of terminals to children under 12 and its sale to those with less than 6.

One of the causes of these measures is electromagnetic radiation. It is not clear that they affect health and, until the possible repercussions are known, they have preferred to prevent children from using them and will force manufacturers to include headphones in all terminals.

As for possible relational problems, it is evident that a child under 6 years of age (and even older) who has just started reading and is beginning to get an idea of what a society is and how to live in it you don't need a mobile to interact with other people.

A year ago we talked about the request of the French Ministry of Health to moderate the use of mobile phones by children and the ban we discussed today was being pursued.

It seems incredible that the age of six is talked about as the moment from which a child could have a mobile phone, the barrier of 10-12 years being more logical to discuss it, however the existence of mobiles destined to Young children created the need to determine when the ideal time would be.

The measure seems correct although I do not know how they will verify that no 6-year-old child buys a mobile phone (unless they themselves go to buy it, a very difficult situation).
