Carnival is approaching and the boys and girls look for their costume to play to be, for a few hours, what they are not (although they don't need a costume for it).
The entry title has a trap. It is not that a costume is sold at this price, it is what it has cost us to dress Jon at home as if it were the Fox.
It is a way to show that costumes can be made without hardly spending money (although nowadays they are not very expensive).
I explain what elements we have chosen to make the costume and how we have done it: Fox hat. It is the one that has cost us 1.95 Euros. We went with Jon to the costume shop and told him to choose the costume he wanted. He came out with this hat (and he doesn't know who the Fox is).
Black long sleeve t-shirt In this case it has a print, but on Carnival day we will turn it so that the print is inside and is really black. As it will be cold, he will wear a black jacket.
Black pants.
Sneakers (or shoes) of black color.
Cap. We have made it from black cloth that my mother-in-law had at home and two black laces. If you don't have to ask grandmothers, I don't know why they always have pieces of cloth at home. A black dad shirt can also work.
In my case I will explain how to make the layer with cloth.
- We cut a square of cloth and fold it in half as a triangle.
- We cut the tips to shape it (removing the gray part of the image on the left).
- We sew the laces on both sides of the neck and we already have our black cape.
Mask. It was possible to do it with cloth, but because of Jon's age, and taking into account that these things usually bother them and often move, we have preferred to paint it directly on the skin.
The horse we will leave for another year as it would trigger the cost of the costume (and for some other reason). At the moment we have added it to the costume via photoshop.
And you will tell me: "and the sword?" Yes I know that the sword is a distinctive element of Fox, but this is a peaceful Fox ... or better, it has supernatural powers, as if it were a Jedi.
"Uhhh, but the Fox is not like that." Already, but it is that, as Luis Piedrahita would say, "is that in our house we play like this".
