Forbidden to breastfeed in public

Forbidden to breastfeed in public: This is the measure that, among others, has adopted a shopping center in Barakaldo. It is comparable to going in underwear, shouting, threatening or throwing garbage on the floor. It is offensive. As bad as smoking. It must be insane. Or worse, as prohibited as attempting against property or security.

It seems a lie but it is true. The Los Fueros Boulevard shopping center, located in the Herriko Plaza, has published a code of conduct that foresees about twenty measures among which is the prohibition of breastfeeding outside the breastfeeding rooms. You have to lock yourself away from unholy looks or they can kick you out of the place.

We have commented on the insane situations that occur when an employee with a retrograde mind invites a nursing mother to leave some space. Sometimes this leads to protests from support groups and that the center must rectify publicly, as happened in a Shopping Center in Malaga or in the Prado Museum itself.

However, what I had never encountered was that breastfeeding was specifically prohibited and that, instead, eating or feeding a baby with a bottle was allowed.

I am convinced that this measure is not legal and I hope that soon we can see that this Shopping Center, which I will not go if it is not to protest, rectifies.

As I once said, a specific law that is sharp begins to be precise: breastfeeding should be promoted as a health habit and should be clearly legal in any public or private space. Only in this way will breastfeeding be able to forbid you where your baby asks for it because of small and hot minds.

Forbidden to breastfeed in public. Where do these absurd ideas come from? What culture can it consider offensive for a mother to feed her baby?
