Endometriosis affects 15% of Spanish women of childbearing age

15% of Spanish women of childbearing age suffer endometriosis, a disease that prevents many of them from being mothers, since approximately half of the cases of endometriosis have sterility problems.

It is a pathology of unknown causes (possibly of genetic origin) that occurs when the endometrium, tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, grows outside the womb. It then affects other areas of the body (ovaries, fallopian tubes, large intestine and ligaments that support the uterus).

The Hospital de la Paz in Madrid is today the Spanish reference center in the treatment of severe endometriosis, the last stage of this disorder, obtaining a success of over 80%.

More and more cases of endometriosis are treated and treated in our country, the truth is that such high figures have surprised me.

There is a surgical solution, which requires a multidisciplinary team of professionals, and today it is committed to less invasive surgical techniques to cure this disease, which results in the quality of recovery of patients. A challenge to help those women suffering from endometriosis, hopefully continue to investigate this disorder and get to know it better and better.
