Donald Duck has turned 75

Donald Duck, one of the most emblematic characters of the Disney Universe, turns 75, after June 9, 1934 began his career in the world of cartoons. A successful career in which he has even won an Oscar, in 1942, for the short set in World War II "Der Fuehrer's Face".

The character is mentioned in a book of Disney stories of the year 1931. However, his first performance was, as a secondary character, in the short film of the series "Silly Symphonies" ("Silly Symphonies") called "The Wise Little Chicken" (The Wise Little Hen). Although the character has undergone several transformations over the years, something that the most popular children's characters do not escape: renew or die, to adapt to the new times.

It was a short of success, and soon it was conquering the public, although the most peculiar of the character is what I like least about him, that way of speaking so torn and almost unintelligible.

His full name is Donald Fauntleroy and he also has a star on the walk of fame. Although he started as a secondary, three years later, in 1937, he was the protagonist of "Don Donald".

Some curiosities about his figure: he wears a blue sailor shirt and hat, never wears pants, except when he puts on the swimsuit, drives a Belchfire Runabout of 34, has a millionaire uncle, Rico McPato or Uncle Rico in Latin America, Gil Pato or Uncle Gilito in Spain, has three small nephews (Juanito, Jorgito and Jaimito) and his distant cousin is Pata Daisy (and I think she was his girlfriend ...).

Above we have the video of his first short film, where we can appreciate the changes. Donald Duck is not the most veteran of Disney, as his partner Mickey Mouse has turned 80. But without a doubt Donald Duck will continue to turn years and years… Congratulations!
