It is the seventh most used name in the past year. In 2006 and 2007 it was the sixth most used name, so it remains more or less stable in that sixth and seventh position.

Last year there were 5,034 parents who decided to have their son named Alvaro. For those who want to know a little about this name I leave the following information: Meaning: Álvaro is a masculine name of Germanic origin, derived from "alwar", which is divided into "al" which means "everything" and "wers" which means "prudence" or "warja" which means "defense or protection".

The meaning is, therefore, "He who is prevented" or "He who is the defender of all."
