Lidl "Toujours Maxi Air Confort" diapers: we have tried them

A few days ago we show you an analysis on diapers conducted by the OCU whose result surprised us all, placing the diapers as winners Toujours Maxi Air Comfort that can be bought in Lidl supermarkets.

Seeing the score obtained I decided to try them and after more than half a spent package (about 30 diapers) I will give you my impressions so that you value the possibility of trying them too.

The first thing that attracts attention, when you are in the supermarket, is the price. The package has 50 diapers, which are less than what I used to buy when I took the Dodot Activity, which have packs between 68 and 78 diapers, and costs less than 8 euros. Each diaper comes out at 15 cents, when with the others I was paying between 25 and 30 cents (at best, with offers on the second unit, you paid 18 cents per diaper, but you had to take two packages, of course).

The Toujours Maxi Air Comfort to the touch

We open the package and take out a diaper. We immediately realize that to the touch they seem more plastic than Dodot diapers (I will constantly compare diapers with iPañal Dodot because it is the one I have more on hand), that is, the feeling is that the diaper is of worse quality. We open the diaper and then touch the area that will be in contact with the baby and we realize that they are very soft to the touch, much more (in my opinion) than the Dodot.

The fit to the body

If we put the diaper Toujous Maxi Air Comfort next to iPañal Dodot we observe that structurally they are very similar, being that of Lidl a little higher. Despite this, the Dodot gives me the feeling that it fits better and is more caught than the Toujours. This could lead to some leaks if we don't put them right. For our part, after those about 30 diapers used, there has been no leakage of urine (the poop impossible to escape because my son has not made it liquid for a long time).

The design of the Toujours Maxi Air Comfort

It is clear that the design, compared to other diapers, is not the main headache of the manufacturer. All diapers are the same and have a drawing of two rabbits playing ball. Overcome the shock, on the part of my son, to replace the characters of Sesame Street by two unknown bunnies you just forget the subject because overall, diapers are to stain them, not to show them off.

Regarding the thickness of these diapers, say that I was surprised to see that they are a little thicker than the Dodot. I expected a more bulky, thicker diaper, so the iPañal They are the thinnest and the rest by elimination must achieve equal absorption at the expense of greater thickness, but no, they have not seemed anything bulky.

Absorption

The OCU says that these diapers had the highest score in terms of absorption. My son has taken them the same time as the Dodot (sometimes, during the day, more than 6-7 hours) and there have been no escapes. In the end we remove a diaper quite loaded but no complaints from you.

Of course, I have no way of knowing to what extent it absorbs more or less than other diapers, because the one who could best explain it to me is my son and it is not a plan to make a questionnaire to know with which diaper it feels more wet once they have After a few hours.

In any case, as I have not noticed any variation with respect to the Dodot and there have been no complaints or leaks my assessment is very positive. At a lower price, same results.

How the Toujours Maxi Air Comfort diaper neutralizes the smell

One of the biggest concerns we have had with diapers is the issue of the smell of children's urine. As I explained at the entrance of the OCU, when we decided to try Huggies and Deliplus we observed that when our son peed we immediately smelled him, becoming annoying. Then we tested Eroski's and ended up again with Dodot, not observing this problem with either of the two brands.

The Toujours Maxi Air Comfort They are on the same level. I have removed a loaded diaper from my son and I have approached it to the nose to smell it very closely (I hope this phrase does not make you very disgusted) and although it is obvious that a little has to smell, the result is very satisfactory.

Conclusions

As we could see at the entrance of the analysis to the diapers of the OCU the results obtained with the diapers depend a lot on each family and each child. We hugged the Huggies and Deliplus badly, with the Dodot stages the pee escaped everywhere, the Eroski produced a very severe contact dermatitis to our son, the Dodot Activity turned out to be the best in all aspects and the Toujours Maxi Air Comfort are giving us the same good results but at a lower price.

Speaking of this with other mothers and, as I say, reading your comments in that post, we can realize that there are babies that the Dodot are doing fatally, the great Huggies, those of the Deliplus eliminate odors and those of Carrefour do not They would change them for nothing in the world. By this I mean that the subject is more subjective than it seems and that the most logical advice seems to be "search, compare and if you find something better, buy it".

For our part, seeing that with much cheaper diapers we get the same results, the verdict is clear: I keep the Toujours Maxi Air Comfort. When Guim, my third child, is born, we will pull Dodot again, basically because Toujours has no baby size but, when he is able to carry larger diapers, we will try Lidl's, which is not the bun oven.
