Martha Payne has created a blog to tell you that her school's school menus are scarce and of doubtful quality

I guess you will meet Martha Payne: she is the Scottish girl who has created a blog to publicly publicize the school menu of your school, which (it seems) is insufficient for children of growing age who do not stop growing.

The topic is running through the network, and the UK media / information has echoed quickly. The girl has not yet turned 10 but the blog has thousands of followers, and in her post yesterday she says her father had received a tweet from Jaime Oliver. It is not uncommon for the school canteen to "bring a head" to parents who would like a better nutritional balance, in fact a few months ago we already commented that the quality of the "school menus" had worsened in our country. But judging by Martha's photos and explanations, the food she receives while in school leaves a lot to be desired.

This little girl began her career in NeverSeconds (helped by her father) as a class work. She states that “Food is almost always horrible”, and accompany these statements with a tray of food where you see a piece of bread, some vegetables, a rolled crepe (or fajita) and a dairy dessert. In another of his photos, two croquettes accompany a hamburger and a couple of cucumber slices.

It seems that Martha and her companions are served a lot of precooked and preheated food. Sometimes hairs are also found on the plate, I hope that after this news has been disseminated, the school will take the children's food more seriously!

Without knowing just the case, what else it catches my attention is the absence of "hot dishes" (stews, pasta, legumes, rice ...) or fresh salads. But in truth and compared (for example) with the school menu of our school, it is quite scarce.

I suppose that before deciding to make their impressions public, the family will have spoken to the school's management, and is - in turn - with the catering company that serves them. More than anything because I believe that what helps to solve the problems is to express our position, and look for alternatives.

What is unquestionable is the power of the Internet to spread striking news.
