Children unite politicians beyond their differences: Iglesias and Casado talk about their premature babies after the debate

In the middle of the electoral campaign, prior to the elections of April 28, the debates of the presidential candidates are taking place on television, where they present their proposals to the citizens, before the big appointment at the polls.

But beyond ideological positions, confrontations and reproaches, there are experiences so deep that they are able to unite people, such as the premature birth of a child; a path full of uncertainty and fears that, unfortunately, Pablo Iglesias and Pablo Casado, candidates of Podemos and Partido Popular, respectively, know well.

An image that speaks for itself

The twins of Pablo Iglesias and Irene Montero were born prematurely in July last year, with only six months of gestation. The time that the little ones have remained admitted has been long and hard, and Pablo Iglesias talked about it in an emotional letter dedicated to his children and to the health personnel who attended them during all that time.

Fate coincidences, the neonatologist who took care of his twins was the same as the son of Pablo Casado and Isabel Torres, also born prematurely. The little one, who came to the world in March 2014, did so with just 25 weeks of gestation and remained hospitalized for four months.

Both parents know what it is travel the hard way of having a premature baby. Both know the uncertainty of their evolution, fear of possible complications, sleepless nights and tears. And those deep feelings unite people.

And so the television cameras captured it yesterday after the Atresmedia debate. Iglesias and Casado left their political adversities for a moment and both shared words of encouragement, experiences and even photographs of their children.

Social networks have also echoed this beautiful moment, and comments from those who know that, above any ideology, there is a common feeling: love for children.

I also like the image very much. We can have our ideas but in the end the normal and important things in life we share them

I love this picture:
Two people who represent very different ideologies and who smile and face each other. Casado's wife, Casado himself and Pablo Iglesias, talking, surely, about the hard experience of having premature children. Anyway, of life. Education. pic.twitter.com/pgjaAC6lTn

The policy is to convince people that you are better. And for that you have to play a role. But when the curtain is closed, all are people who do not have to have rivalry Surely there are more fights within the PP, PSOE, Podemos, Cs than from one match with another

It is nothing strange. @pablocasado_ and @Pablo_Iglesias_ are parents who have shared a difficult situation with their children. Political ideas on one side, feelings on the other. Like everyone!
