Holidays with children: little traveler's diary

A hobby in danger of extinction, especially for our children, is to write by hand, write stories, experiences, diaries ... Because of new technologies, the speed at which the days pass, the lack of time with our children and for a thousand more reasons, children are losing the love of writing newspapers and it is we, their parents, who should encourage both reading and writing.

The first thing to do, of course, is to lead by example, it could be a good idea, to sit with your child while everyone writes their holiday diary, you can write about your mood, what things you think you are missing During the year working and what things are expendable from your job, what things are what make you happy, which ones annoy you ... or what you think of, you can also write the list of the super if you need ... the question It is spending time with the children and that this time has a lot of value. Today I will explain a very simple craft to do with children: little traveler's diary.

Necessary material

  • Colored cards (DIN A4 size)
  • Scissors
  • Paper (standard size fole DIN A4)
  • Thread and needle (if you don't know how to sew, you can use a stapler)

  1. The first thing you have to do is fold the colored cards and the folios in half.
  2. We will draw the covers with the title of our newspaper, with the date and leaving space for the author's name.
  3. We can fill the sheets of paper with stripes so that children can write on them, we can also put a space for them to write the date (corners of the pages).
  4. At the end of the diary, we can write something like "the end" or "end."
  5. You can use as many pages as you want, I have used 4 pages (folded in half are 8 and 16 faces left to write)
  6. Once the book is formed, we can sew the sheets to the cover. You must do this, never leave a child with a needle. You can also staple it but it will be better if we sew it. If you have a sewing machine, it will be perfect.
  7. We fold the diaries and we already have a handmade diary for the children!

Enjoy the holidays!
