Spanish company L3C Multimedia presents the free application Strings. This is a part of the Suite Son project that is a collection of interactive stories for iPad based on the artist's work Teresa Tomás. The collection begins with the adventures of the dog Strings, and in next installments you can see the bird's Wind and those of the frog Percussion. All the characters anticipate in the image that is included in the application and have a design, in my opinion, something sophisticated for children.
Strings is a story that takes place in twelve interactive scenes through animations and sounds that invite the kids to participate in a dream world of images and music. The story presents the adventures of an extraordinary companion animal that is half violin and half rock guitar. During your morning walk Strings meets Weeping, a tree whose branches are made up of tears that sprout from its multiple eyes. Our protagonist is sad because he is tied to five ropes. He won't stop until he breaks free of them and start new adventures with his dear friends. Wind Y Percussion.
In addition, the application includes twelve games related to the scenes of the story and develops the vocabulary and topics covered in the story facilitating the learning of concepts such as freedom, solidarity, companionship or empathy. With this collection of games, kids can practice counting numbers, playing music, singing in karaoke mode, discovering hidden treasures, becoming familiar with shapes, knowing musical instruments, recognizing body expressions, etc.
I liked the project Son Suite and its goal of becoming a collection of original stories adapted to the child reader with a focus on the experimental and avant-garde with an atmosphere that reminded me of Dalí. And is that Suite Son opens a very interesting path between the art and teaching before which we will be attentive to know its evolution.
