The history of the miniature railway, a beautiful model in Seville

Between platforms 8 and 9, almost as hidden as platform 9 and three quarters of Harry Potter, a beautiful surprise awaits us these days and every Tuesday of the year. In the Santa Justa station of Seville are the trains of today and always in the form of a model, a visit that children really enjoy.

The Seville Association of Friends of the Railroad (ASAF) proposes a walk through the evolution of the railway, and we receive an impressive model of more than 22 meters long with different mountain scenarios, tunnels, lakes, cities, mines ... furrowed by the tracks and, of course, routes through tiny trains.

A whole show enjoyed yesterday by children (and us) because the trains were also controlled by other children, relatives of veteran friends of the railroad, children who ensure the survival of this hobby and transmit their passion to visitors.

From time to time the lights they turn off and the model comes to a different life, with lights in the buildings, in the ferris wheel that keeps on turning, in the trains themselves… And trains we see of many types, from those of merchandise or those that are loaded with coal to the passenger trains.

The model begins with an old mining town and ends with a reproduction of the current train station, so that different periods are mixed.

We witnessed an "accident" between two trains, how small reproductions are conscientiously and artfully arranged, how a small murmur of admiration occurs every time the lights went out ... and all in a small environment. very familiar.

Together with the details of each train, of each mountain, car or the tiny people that furrow this great model, we can look at the walls in which many other train models are framed, faithful reproductions that take us to different times.

By the way, that at the entrance of this room there is a small static train, but not so small that children cannot ride and take a picture as if they were machinists or reviewers.

On Tuesday afternoons of the whole year you can see for free and until January 4 for one euro do not miss this tour in the Santa Justa station in Seville by today's and usual trains. A pleasant surprise at the beginning of platforms 8 and 9, just below the lobby, behind the stairs down.
