Paella is a healthy meal for children during the summer

Although the Paella is a food full of attractions for the whole year It is in summer where it looks more. In the Valencian lands it is a pleasure to enjoy them, for the great tradition, for the quality of the product, for the variety of options it offers and especially they know much better if they are made, as indicated by our colleagues from Direct to the Palate, with fire from firewood. Paella is the most famous rice dish that is taken in Spain and receives its name from the container where it is cooked.

So in summer it is a joy to enjoy a good paella with rice as a fundamental ingredient. Rice is a balanced and complete food and children love it. And to complement the paella we can use a wide variety of ingredients: vegetables, meat, fish, seafood, etc. The most traditional are those of chicken and rabbit that children find it impossible to resist eating.

At home we usually take it accompanied by a mixed salad with tomato, tuna, onion, olives or escarole, oil and garlic. It is a good way to complement the flavors and also for children it is very easy to eat.

To specify more ingredients we can say that you can include rabbit, eel, monkfish, cod, prawns, prawns, snails, partridge, etc. And on the vegetables or legumes to be used in addition to the typical green or red pepper, onion, tomato or garlic, you can also add green beans, artichokes, beans, peas (as in the picture), etc.

A paella requires a preparation time and much love. In less than an hour you can make a very tasty paella, perhaps with the wood fire the time increases although the pleasure of doing it is left by the cook. And yet each paella will take the time it deems most appropriate.

The first half hour is to make the sauce that includes garlic, tomato, onion, bay leaf, pepper, chicken and some seafood that will have been prepared before. After having the sofrito prepared, add the rice, stir everything well, add a little saffron and water. Let it warm up until the water is consumed and the rice is well cooked, tender and soft.

We hope your summer is filled with paellas and that children enjoy them between bath and sun and water bath.
