Should they give us permission at work to attend school meetings?

These are things that you don't fall into until you realize that you don't have that option, but probably as necessary as any permission your company can give you to do personal things.

We have a few hours a year to go to the doctor, we can accompany a family member if they are going to operate on something, we have a few days for our own affairs, one day if we have to make the move but hey, if they call you from your child's school so you can talk to them, or if you have a tutoring, no, that is not contemplated. And I ask Shouldn't they give us permission at work for that, to go to school meetings?

The school, that place where children are kept

Because we are going to see, the school that is, the place where children stay while parents work or a place to learn to be people and learn things? Because in theory a school is the second, but if that is what we are talking about something important in the lives of our children that requires the time and dedication of some teachers and parents who must share experiences, doubts and concerns with the professionals of education in order to help our children be, in the future, those who take the country and the world forward. Come on, we are talking about something very delicate and, at the same time, very important.

But no, it seems that the thing is not oriented that way. First because the government has allowed itself the (absurd) luxury of cutting budget items in education. That will obviously affect the quality of our children's education and who knows if they will not become a lost generation. And second, because of what we are talking about. Nobody contemplates (or nobody usually contemplates), and I talk about the government and the companies, that a man or woman, father or mother of a family, may need to go to his son's school to explain how he is doing, what to influence enhance some talent or ability and what to insist on to help you in the areas where you are most lagging behind.

Our society is adults

And is that our society are adults. Children are only tiny adults who don't care until they are, unless it's for them to consume, so we do have them. Young people are interested, but hey, they complain too much and they also have no job. Adults, those who work, these are the ones that count. These are the ones that take the country forward and these are the ones that matter. We cannot put the welfare of their children in front of their production capacity, because that will separate them from what is really important: their work and their ability to spend the money they earn for capitalism.

Therefore family reconciliation does not matter to anyoneThat's why we keep coming home when our children are about to fall asleep, that's why many parents see them almost only on weekends, that's why parents end up abusing gifts that replace the time they haven't spent with them and that matters to the government and companies do not give a damn if your child goes well or badly in school. Let's talk about him, your son, when he works and produces. Then he will be the important one.

You, by then, will probably be one more retiree and then you will not care about anyone, unless they have to operate on you or you are in poor health, look, then your child can accompany you because they do not say that we do not have humanity and that we don't comply with the laws, and unless they touch elections, then we will even go wherever you are to give us a hug.

And in Finland?

Yes, I know I'm tired because every time I talk about education I just talk about Finland, but I can't help it. An abused child does not know that he is being mistreated until he realizes that many parents are not. Then compare and understand that your case is exceptional and that you have had very bad luck. Well, to realize how painful our social situation is, we parents have to compare ourselves to other realities, and I cannot imagine a more child-oriented and education-oriented one than the Finnish one.

In the Bran program, the day they talked about education in Finland, many people were surprised when they explained that it is normal for parents to have permission to go to tutoring. In fact, they explained that those parents who do not go to school, those who are so busy that they cannot, those who are so important that they delegate that function to third parties, are the poorly regarded and are the ones who end up be investigated to try to catch a glimpse of whether children may have any educational deficiency for the lack of parental commitment.

That is the difference, or one of them. There education is above any government. It is a matter in which all politicians work at one regardless of the party you represent. Here anyone arrives, without sufficient preparation, the title of Minister hangs up and he alone, with his extravagances and hobbies, turns upside down education until a few years later the next one arrives and puts everything back according to his own wishes.

And so we go, that neither forward nor backward, with a resounding school failure, with some parents that we have to make a thousand inventions with the company to be able to go talk with the teachers and with some teachers with anti-cut shirts, tired of having to take the chestnuts out of the fire themselves, because nobody supports them.

CONCAPA requested it a few weeks ago

The Catholic Confederation of Parents and Students' Parents (Concapa) requested a few weeks ago that the two-hour leave per quarter be contemplated for the workers so that they can go to the tutoring of their children.

The government hasn't answered them yet and I don't think they answer very quickly. There are many of us who still expect maternity leave to be extended to six months so that mothers can do what every medical scientific society recommends, breastfeed them six months exclusively with breast milk. If that hasn't come yet, the two hours for the tutoring of the children already sounds like a joke.

I suppose that the ruler's mind must say that of "yes, of course, until six months at home doing the bum with the baby" and "yes, of course, two hours every three months so that they do not go to tutoring anyway and above get away from work. " I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.
